L.N. Gumilyov ENU partnership in the Creative Spark program funded by the British Council
On 29 January 2019, Academic board meeting of the University was held on a base of Faculty of architecture and construction. One of the issue on the agenda was the presentation of the head of CACTLE, Armiyash Nurmagambetova on the theme of “L.N. Gumilyov ENU partnership in the Creative Spark program funded by the British Council”.
Since November 2018, L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University is a partner of Creative Spark Programme funded by the British Council. Creative Spark: Higher Education Enterprise Programme is a five-year initiative to help develop the creative economy and enterprise skills.
CREOTALENTS project is made possible thanks to the involvement of academic experts in entrepreneurship and international business from the University of Birmingham, UK, Oxford Brookes University, UK and L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Kazakhstan.
The project will offer an innovative blended learning experience, combining face-to-face, online and mentoring activities for a consistent transition from the basics of entrepreneurship to hands-on experience with crowdfunding and virtual support for real-life implementation of ideas.
In the framework of Creative Spark programme, the British Council is implementing a programme to learn English, which includes a series of new digital materials, including training packages on the English Channel website, online courses and massive open courses focusing on learning English for entrepreneurs. More than 100 students of FAC will take online courses at the expense of the grant of the British Council.
From January to June 2019, a number of events in the form of hackathons, training and seminars is planned to hold with the involvement of students, academic environment and people engaged in the creative industry on a base of L.N. Gumilyov ENU.
The project team in close collaboration with the NCE “Atameken”, “Damu” Fund and Akimat of Astana is planning to hold city events to attract business environment engaged in the creative industry.
